Hiya to whoever is reading this,
I’ve been trying to eat really healthily recently and after having a think, I thought about trying to be a vegetarian for a week.
Now obviously because I’ve never tried being a vegetarian before, I kinda need you guys’ advice.
This is in no way me making fun of vegetarians and I really respect people who have chosen to avoid meat.
So, do you guys think I should try to be a vegetarian for a week?
Comment below and if I actually end up trying to be vegetarian for a week, I may even do a daily post of how I’m surviving…?
Also, if you have any tips for me then please comment them too! 😄
Feel free to like, comment and subscribe!

Definitely try it! I’m in the process of trying to cut down on the amount of meat that I eat and it always feels good when I manage to go a day eating veggie!

Ok, yeah I’ll bear that in mind, thx! 😄

Hey there GeorgieGrl! I so respect you wanting to do this. I actually have never so don’t even know if what I have to say will even matter! LOL! If I were to attempt this I would make sure that I load up on those vegetables that I simply cannot do without. Also would research on the internet some vegan dishes that would tempt me to try them. Lots of Pics helps. Vegetable Lasagna is a good one. If you do it, you gotta post about your experience for sure. Good luck and happy eating!!

Thx! My family cooks a lot of vegetarian dishes as it is so it shouldn’t be too hard finding the right stuff to eat. I’ll keep you guys posted for when I start and how I’m surviving 😄

I wouldn’t say go full Vegan, but you could even just cut out meat for a week. My grandfather did that and lost a few pounds. But I would go with something more realistic and find out what you’ve been eating that’s unhealthy. Since I’ve been sick I haven’t been eating Ice Cream every day and I have now lost about 15 pounds.

Yeah, I don’t think I could manage vegan just yet! 😄
I’ve not eaten crisps or sugary stuff for about a month, so I kinda wanna see what it’s like to not eat meat so I can kinda know what it’s like to be vegetarian. Well done on not eating the ice cream, it’s so hard to avoid sugar when companies constantly shove it in your face, and it’s amazing that you’ve achieved that 😄

Thank you. Good luck in your diet

I don’t think I’d survive as a full vegan, so I’m gonna just cut out meat for a week and see how I go. I don’t eat unhealthily as I cut most processed sugars out of my diet in January.
Nice work with the ice cream though! 😂

Well I did it for a moth and my muscles really deteriorated. I was able to run about 6min miles but after a moth I could barely run one.

I already eat a lot of eggs, nuts + seeds, milk, other dairy any way in my diet so I won’t become protein deficient in any way. I also do a LOT of sport so my muscle won’t decrease in anyway either 😄

It’s really up to you but it could be an interesting experience, but I agree with Michelle you shouldn’t go completely vegan as that would be way too sudden. Good luck x

Yeah, I’m not gonna go completely vegan as I probably wouldn’t survive (and my school won’t let us bring packed lunches, and still don’t serve vegan stuff)
Thx for the advice though!

It’s really up to you! Maybe every certain week like the 3rd week of each month as an example, or every 2 months- anything you want. Or a certain day every week, anything you want. If you like it, then you can choose where it goes from there. i don’t know because I don’t eat meat much- only special occasions. But if you are talking about eggs and all of that stuff then you can try for a week if you want.

Yeah, I’m probably just gonna remove things like actual meat for a week, and I eat a lot of protein filled things like eggs and dairy anyway so I hopefully won’t become protein deficient 😄

Hello!! I personally would recommend that you ease into being vegetarian. So maybe you start with one week where you don’t eat meat for 2 days. And then the next week 3. And then so on until you’ve stopped eating meat. You should go as slow or as fast as your body is comfortable with. I know if you change your diet abruptly it can cause your system to be kind of confused I guess you could say and you could start experiencing things like missed periods and hormonal stuff. Also, if you are removing all forms of meat from your diet make sure to start consuming other things too like tofu and eggs. Don’t just stick with your normal diet and just take out the meat because then you would start to lack in protein. Hope that helped! Good luck!

I don’t think I’m gonna become a full time vegetarian, but I already eat a lot of non-meat protein things (like yoghurt, nuts, seeds, milk) anyway.
Thx so much for the advice though 😄

My mum’s a vegetarian, and it’s not that difficult to get into, but I guess it does depend on how much you like meat. My advice would be to substitute the meat with other things like quorn and nuts. Good luck with it, if you decide to go for it 🙂 As with all new things, the first week will be the hardest, but you’ll get used to it

I eat a lot of yoghurt, milk, dairy, nuts + seeds, etc. anyway so I don’t think I’ll become protein deficient 😄
I also don’t have a lot of time to eat at school as I have training for various sports everyday, so grabbing a salad may be the easiest option anyway! 😄

Wow that’s such a great thing to try and do! I wish I was strong enough to resist meat, I think you should definitely try it but you’ll have to make sure you replace all the protein in your diet you’ll be losing by eating things like eggs and nuts and drinking milk or taking protein supplements. Good luck and please kept us poster on how you get on!:) x

I’ll defiantly keep you guys posted when I start and how I’m going though 😄

Hi Georgie! Well I’m a vegetarian, by choice, though it IS part of my religion. Anyway, becoming vegan is an awesome idea–you just have to know how to do it and how to be motivated for it. I could google reasons why becoming vegetarian is good and helpful to society, but I know that you can do to on your own. 🙂 It is quite difficult to transition into a complete vegetarian so soon and for a week. It’s not impossible, but I can almost guarantee that you’ll just miss consuming meat so much that you won’t try vegetarianism again. Instead, try eating less meat per day until you think you’re ready. Try searching alternatives to meat online such as tofu, which as absolutely delicious. Right now, I can eat veggies no problem, but the best way that YOU will enjoy it, is if you look up amazing and “aesthetic” looking recipes. I’m not sure how much of a cook you are but you will love cooking up an amazing and good-looking veggie dish. Even if you’re not a cook, there are easy and delicious recipes for you to try. Now, eating veggies will deplete you of quite a bit of protein and you may feel less energetic. However, there are plenty of tasty alternatives. For example, eat a lot of yogurt, milk, quinoa, nuts, and other foods (that you can find online). I used to eat these plain, and they tasted awful. I was very weak and since I participate in sports, I was negatively impacted. Then, I decide to tweak my food a bit. First, I drank fresh homemade milkshakes with plenty of fruits. There are TONS of hacks on making tasty and healthy milkshakes. Next, I tried eating quinoa salads instead of consuming it plain. Ironically, I’m eating one now. 🙂 Anyway, quinoa salads are incredibly delicious if you know how to make them. I’ve never been a salad fan, but once you know the tricks, they are amazing! For quinoa, your regular veggies (corn, carrots, peppers) need to complement with some snazzy foods (roasted walnuts, strawberries, raisins, avocados).
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this advice! For more information and those hacks and tricks I spoke of, a search engine will be your best friend. 🙂 Becoming vegetarian is hard, and even if you want to try it for a week, be prepared or else you’ll hate it forever. 🙂 I’m not sure your exact reasons for trying out vegetarianism, but you’re definitely motivated! If you don’t want to give up meat completely, try having one “cheat” day per week. 🙂 Sorry for the super long comment!!
Love,
Aditi the Vegetarian 🙂

This is amazing! My dad cooks a lot of those recipes any way and I don’t have a lot of time to eat during the week anyway so ironically it might be easier than I thought it would be!

Definitely try it! I am semi-vegetarian (eating basically only chicken) and while that isn’t classed as a thing, I call myself semi(almost full)-vegetarian. Work on cutting meat out bit by bit, that’s my advice💗

Defiantly try it out! What would be the worst thing that happens? Not eating meat for a week, not liking it and then go back eating how you were? Nothing bad could happen!
